Client

This vibrant and expanding PR agency is owner-managed with a current headcount of 30. As a growing business, management attention is always focussed on business development and delivering an excellent service to existing clients.

 

As with many companies in this phase of development, the client is king and not enough time is available to manage the internal processes; particularly those, such as HR, that can’t be delegated to another team member due to their confidential nature. With one director managing all the employee appraisals across the company, and tasked with business development, capacity was spread too thin.

 

HR Administration & Ongoing Support for Managers 

In January 2008, Taylor HR Solutions Ltd took responsibility for all the HR administrative tasks, enabling senior management to focus on the core business. In addition, we provide on-demand managerial support for specific employee-relations issues, such as disciplinaries, redundancies, grievances etc. 

 

Monthly admin tasks include:

o        Drafting contracts of employment

o        Reference checking

o        Leavers administration

o        Maintenance (and creation) of up-to-date policies and procedures

o        Liaison with payroll

 

Current situation:

We provide a flexible HR service that keeps the company legal, supports the managers and instils confidence in the employees. We have worked with the client to address their priorities, by implementing and embedding scaleable HR processes and reacting to specific situations as they arise. We have:

 

  • Implemented an updated contract of employment, including probationary periods for all new joiners
  • Recommended a free online holiday management system, administered by the Office Manager
  • Introduced a leading provider of private healthcare, pensions & other employee benefits
  • Advised on potentially sensitive redundancies 
  • Maintained a schedule for employee appraisls and probationary meetings
  • Prepared a course of management development sessions, aimed at Account Director level
